In order to work as a cctv operator you need to complete the required sia cctv training course by a training provider. Once you have done your training you shall be assed and after that you would expect your cctv certificate to arrive from the awarding body within a weeks time. Once you receive the certificate then you can apply for your cctv license from sia.  

Duration of the CCTV course: 4 Days  

In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This applies to front line staff only.

To get one of the qualifications linked to Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licensing you will need to attend and take two training modules and take and pass two exams. The course may be delivered over four days or during weekends and/or evening sessions. The duration of the training should be 32 hours.

The job of a cctv operator is much more responsibility than a normal security guard, cause he looking at a number of cctv cameras and analysing the situations at different locations.
